High School Lacrosse Game
For two different early evenings now, I have attempted to see my grandson play lacrosse - the first night I drove to the wrong location and last night I got the correct field but the wrong time - so I snapped a few photographs and decided to post this one of his varsity (he's on the junior varsity) team (black and orange) moving the ball up field.
Happy birthday to Vincent van Gogh, born on this day in 1853
DID VAN GOGH CUT OFF HIS OWN EAR?
We know, we know. How do we even begin to comprehend a world in which van Gogh that didn't cut off his own ear and deliver it to a lady named Rachel?
Well, Hamburg-based historians Hans Kaufmann and Rita Wildegans insist
that Vincent van Gogh may have made the whole thing up to protect the
real culprit, his friend Paul Gauguin, who could have chopped it off
during an argument. (Gauguin liked to fence.) Evidence backing this
claim includes a letter van Gogh wrote to Gauguin, which reads: "I will keep quiet about this and so will you."

The Light Is Shining For Burns Ford
When I was young and the river past Harry Harvey's Fish Market exited into what was called the 'old channel' and the 'new channel' and this body of water reflecting the setting sun was Anthony Cameron's cow pasture, right about where the small light on the middle right is beaming from the now old town office in the town park was an old shanty house belonging to Burns Ford where he and my father and others would gather and drink and play cards and sing old songs like 'Love's Old Sweet Song' and I was a young young pre-school kid that went everywhere - taverns, bars, old shantys, fishing boats, night hunting, staying awake until I would fall asleep against some old dog, or on the stern plank of a rowing boat in a drizzling rain or in the heat of a summers days and those old memories still roam across my mind as I capture scenes that never existed then.
words by G. Clifton Bingham
When on the world the mists began to fall,
Out of the dreams that rose in happy throng
Low to our hearts Love sang an old sweet song;
And in the dusk where fell the firelight gleam,
Softly it wove itself into our dream.
Just a song a twilight, when the lights are low,
And the flick'ring shadows softly come and go,
Tho' the heart be weary, sad the day and long,
Still to us at twilight comes Love's old song,
comes Love's old sweet song.

Love's Old Sweet Song
Music by J.L. Molloy;words by G. Clifton Bingham
Song Lyrics
Once in the dear dead days beyond recall,When on the world the mists began to fall,
Out of the dreams that rose in happy throng
Low to our hearts Love sang an old sweet song;

The Blue Bird of Loneliness
I was catching sunset and luckily snapped this feeling of life, and end of day, and beauty and solitude - and knew it was a perfect post for tomorrow but I can't wait to share. Enjoy!

Working Bee Hives at Pristine Valley Farms
I drove over to Harford County to pick up a 'brand-new' bee hive this morning - getting there and back home before the light showers moved in - and was amazed at the various kinds of working hives they had in their side yard.
