Hot Toddy - English Breakfast Tea w/honey, butter, and Laphroaig Single Malt
piping hot cuppa tea, about one half teaspoon of butter, heaping teaspoon of honey, and a good shot of single malt (I personally like the 10 year old Laphroaig with its deep smokey peat background) and you have one of the finest warm-me-up drinks for a cold rainy bone chiller day that I have yet to find

this is the evening of the 22nd and we're just checking out the old stand and seeing how the tree reacts in the house - today (23rd) we've decided to empty the water in the stand and reposition the tree - upward a fraction or so - so that it will wick up the water to the pine needles to keep them fresh as at the present the tree does not seem to be using any water at all - usually they have taken on a pint or two, so probably I have the base of the tree too flat against the bottom of the stand - more later
