I was walking about twenty feet away from the tree from which I had killed the strangling Wisteria, when I heard a falling crashing sound and then the
whooomp of the dead tree top smashing into the ground. Oft times this spring and early summer I have been weeding the still sprouting wisteria shoots from around the base of the tree - really a dual-tree, one Ash and one Maple, of which the maple is living and the ash is dead. Since I did not cut the tree in the early spring I was letting the whole thing stand while bird nesting time was here so that I would not inadvertently destroy some winged-creatures family. Mayhaps I will take it down now.
