On leaving Lake Uist we had to do roughly 1/8th to 1/4th mile (0.2 - 0.5km) of wading with the canoe in tow. It was quite pleasant really, clean refreshing water, nice wooded scenery, and only the occasional down-fall to scramble around. We hadn't expected this shallow waters, somehow expecting to canoe the connecting channel to the various small lakes before coming back to the larger Loch Lomond.
