Jellyfish were among the first complex life to exist on the earth some 500 to 600 million years ago. Today due to human over fishing of the worlds oceans jellyfish are starting to become one of the most dominant species in the seas. Previously many types of fish ate incredible numbers of jellyfish but that great abundance of fish that swam the oceans up into the late 19th century are being so dramatically decimated that the jellyfish population is exploding.
