When my dad died in 1987 this stone for both him and my mom sat waiting until this July with my mom's name and birth year already affixed. Today I happened to be stopping to photograph the river and this young man from Howard M. Gebhard, Inc. Monument Engraving was there to sand blast '2014' under her name. Perhaps one day some genealogist hunter will be perusing the stone to add information to his quest - but never quite able to add that volume of her life as she lived it to his lore.
