Broad-leafed Arrowhead - Sagittaria latifolia



not entirely sure of the identification but relatively certain (I plan on returning for flower id) - the Arrowheads (three somewhat similar types) sometimes called Duck-Potatoes because of the tubers were in times past used as food by early settlers and the indigenous Indian tribes - the broad-leafed variety shown above sometimes called Wapato, which I am guessing is their Indian name.
