When I was a young boy and my father, occasionally self-employed as a paperhanger, worked he used what most people called a 'saw horse' but which he called a 'trussel' - obviously the local pronunciation of the word trestle - to walk on while he wallpapered the ceiling of a room. He was quite talented at this, walking blithely ahead without looking down just intensely concentrating on the straightness of the paper . I made two of these handy items for my own use some 34 years ago and they have survived in reasonable condition all this time - until about a week ago when I backed over one with my old F150. I snapped this shot just before I added the two inside 'spreaders' that help to firm up the support as well as maintain a constant spread for my replacement.
