Keeping An Eye On The Intruder

after photographing the eggs (next posting to follow this) I knew that these cardinals were the ones associated with the nest - with the female (bottom right) the one that flew hastily away as I walked the dogs under her nest for the female is the one incubating the eggs while the male keeps her fed and intruding males away - I left soon after the photographs here were taken so that they could get back to house keeping
