Single Malts - and other odd Musings

Eagle (nesting) Update

I had reported earlier that the several days of high wind had destroyed the eagles nest that I have been photographing for a number of years - and that I thought they were nesting in another less accessible (for me to photograph) area, along with some photographs showing the eagles there.  Then for a few weeks I could not discern any eagle activity there at all.  Well yesterday I checked again and took a number of photographs, none of which turned out well enough to post (and as you know, they have to be fairly rough for me not to post for informative reasons).  I will say that I am trying to determine if what I saw yesterday were eagles or black turkey vultures - I did have some glide photos but they were not definitive enough in giving me information on the extended wing pattern that would easily identify the eagle from the buzzard.  After I post this I am going to go photographing and hope to resolve if that eagle family is safe or not.  (that new nest is so scrawny that I did not think they would be raising a brood there this year but one of the unposted photos of the nest definitely show a large bird form but I will have to resolve the wing spread flight pattern to say with any certainty whether it was the young dark coloured eagle or just the black buzzard.  Check back later if it is of interest to you.
