Wet Snow coming down over fluffy snow with rain/sleet projected |
A long traffic snarling weather system throughout the eastern coast of the U.S. brought perhaps 12 to 14 inches of powdery snow (@33-37centimeters) before starting to warm giving larger wetter snow and then snow. sleet, and rain mix as the system continues to move through. At this moment things are someone quiet as far as precipitation goes but we will continue until late evening or early morning with more snow. The fluffy snow on the ground has become wet and sticky with the rain/sleet and rising temperatures - a miserable storm to be sure. Our friends and neighbors just a few miles to the north likely have gotten heavier amounts of snow and perhaps slightly cooler temperatures.
NOTE: see correction on the stated cm corresponding to inches - my brain had a momentary glitch.
